13/03/2024 Dublin, Ireland. Actress Fionnula Flanagan was honoured at a handprint ceremony at the Gaiety Theatre yesterday, Tuesday 12th March. Ms. Flanagan has been performing the role of Nanna Glavin in John B. Keane’s ‘Sive’, directed by Andrew Flynn produced by Gaiety Productions for the past six weeks, which finishes this weekend on Saturday 16th March. The tradition of the bronze handprints began as means of recognising and celebrating some of the incredible artists who’ve performed on the Gaiety stage and made their mark on the Arts industry, both in Ireland and further afield. Ms. Flanagan is known for her roles in the films ‘James Joyce's Women’, ‘Some Mother's Son’, ‘Waking Ned’, ‘The Others’, ‘The Guard’ and ‘Song of the Sea’, as well as on television including ‘Lost’ and ‘Brotherhood’.
